NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Dozens of charter, magnet, private and home school organizations across the Metroplex are kicking off National School Choice Week.
Organizers are hosting events to inform parents about educational options for their children that differ from the traditional public school system.
Andrew Campanella is President of National School Choice Week and urges parents to consider these questions concerning education.
“What school will best inspire your child, motivate your child, encourage your child and ultimately help your daughter or son to be successful?” he said.
Campanella and other school choice advocates argue that many students suffer from a one size fits all approach to education.
“School choice is so important because every child is unique, every child is important and what may be great fit for a child down the block may not be a great fit for your child,” said Campanella.
Critics have argued the concept siphons funds away from the public school system.
