NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – It’s North Texas Giving Day and residents from all walks of life have the chance to give and learn more about local charities.
Monica Christopher, Communities Foundation of Texas Senior Vice President Chief Giving and Community Impact Officer, said the 3300 participating non profits will benefit not only from the monetary donations but also the awareness.
“Both of community need and opportunities but also through NorthTexasGivingDay.org they’re able to tell in a lot of detail about their missions, the programs that they offer, how they measure success,” she said.
In addition to donating money, patrons can also donate their time.
“We know that giving is not just about giving dollars but also about giving time. So, we you go to give to your favorite organizations financially you’ll also be asked about whether or not you want to pledge volunteer hours,” said Christopher.
Last year, more than 103,000 donors raised $66 million.
