(WBAP/KLIF) — The Supreme Court concluded opening arguments, Wednesday, on a Mississippi abortion law that bans abortions at 15 weeks. Constitutional lawyer David Coale says the court could go one of two ways.

Lawyers for the state argue that Mississippi shouldn’t be constrained by previous court rulings on Roe or Casey, citing those cases were not correctly decided. Coale says justices heard arguments, but gave no clear indication on which way they were leaning. However a few justices tipped their hand on which way they were leaning. Wednesday’s oral arguments could bode well for the Texas abortion law.
Up to now, the court has elected to allow the Texas Heartbeat Bill to remain in force. The Supreme Court is now mulling over the Mississippi abortion case, with a decision expected this spring.
