(WBAP/KLIF) — Investigators say a Hallsville man accidentally shot and killed his 11-year-old daughter while hunting in East Texas.
Daisy Grace Lynn George was taken by ambulance to Longview hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Saturday.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office says they received numerous reports of the accidental shooting just east of Hallsville. An airlift was requested, however all helicopters were grounded by low clouds, forcing the child to be driven 12 miles by ambulance.
Authorities say grief counselors have been coordinated for faculty and students at the girl’s school.
