FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD community is mourning the deaths of two brothers killed in crash Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Isaiah Lopez and his brother freshman Elijah Lopez attended Boswell High School in Fort Worth.
First responders were called to the intersection of Bailey Boswell Road and Twin Mills Boulevard, where a small car crashed head on with a large pickup around 4:30 p.m.
Three others were injured in the crash. The brothers died at the scene.
The district had counselors available on campus Thursday to help students grieve.
Boswell High School Principal Nika Davis wrote a letter to parents and students after the tragedy that read in part:
“Our school community is in shock with the loss of Isaiah and Elijah. As we all work to process this startling news, I want to assure you that our focus is on the emotional well-being of our school community. The loss of life of any is a tragic situation, especially when the loss is a classmate or a peer,” said the letter.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
