FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley said the county is following Governor Greg Abbott’s order and will not issue a mask mandate.
This comes after Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins issued a mask mandate while the Governor’s order says businesses cannot require them.
Whitley says Governor Abbott has the power to make these decisions and it’s out of their control.
“I have talked with attorneys, mayors, schools and hospital CEOs and we all feel that the governor has that authority and I’m not going to to go against the law,” said Whitley.
Tarrant County will not issue a mask mandate while the Governor’s current order stands. I am an ardent supporter of local control and still believe local governments should be given the tools to effectively fight emergencies. (1/3)

The truth is simple – we know our hospitals are filling up with unvaccinated individuals. I urge everyone to get the vaccine. (3/3)
