
Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas kids ages 12-15 received COVID shots by the tens of thousands across Texas in the first week of eligibility.
Over a year after the pandemic triggered shutdowns and other restrictions nationwide, over 100,000 kids have gotten vaccinated, according to the Texas Tribune.
A pediatric nurse told the publication that it was a ‘no-brainer’ for her family as her husband suffers a disability that puts him at risk.
Their 14-year-old got his shot in the arm on last Friday, less than 24 hours after the Pfizer vaccine was approved for emergency use for adolescents.
Texas aims to vaccinate 1.7 million newly eligible kids.
