(WBAP/KLIF) — The COVID-19 pandemic has shut down businesses, sporting events, and even the traveling circus. The Cirque MonteCarlo traveling circus is stranded in North Texas due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Cirque MonteCarlo’s 42 performers are holed up in a Tarrant county parking lot after shelter-in-place orders canceled their shows.
Cindi Cavallini says the future of her family’s circus is uncertain. The circus has been performing in South America since 1890 and spent $500,000 to bring the show to the United States. most of the performers are from France, Spain, Argentina, and parts of South America.
The circus was performing in Grand Prairie when the COVID-19 lock-down occurred.
with their shows canceled across the United States and the performers from overseas had nowhere to go.
Hula-hoop dancer Francesca Cavillini hopes the country re-opens soon. currently, WFAA says the traveling circus has 14 RV’s and 12 travel trailers staged in an undisclosed Tarrant County parking lot, waiting.
