(WBAP/KLIF) — Senator John Cornyn of Texas discussed the upcoming Presidential impeachment trial on WBAP’s Rick Robert’s Show. Cornyn believes there will be witnesses and he also expects minority leader Chuck Schumer to push for further witnesses during the trial. Talk show host Rick Roberts posed that an impeachment normally consists of a crime along with direct evidence and witnesses. however, this case was in search of a crime.
According to Cornyn, Nancy Pelosi failed to show President Trump was part of a grand scheme. Many political experts are weighing in on the reason the democratic speaker of the house continues to hold the articles of impeachment.
Cornyn believes the move is an election ploy to help democrats take over the senate. Nevertheless, Pelosi seems poised to deliver the articles of impeachment to the Senate after a Wednesday vote.
