LISTEN: Men Thought to be ICE Agents Threatened in West Dallas

The video shows a man and woman pulling up next to men in an unmarked SUV screaming and threatening them. The post with the video claims the men were ICE agents in a predominantly hispanic neighborhood in West Dallas.

Carl Rusnok with ICE said Wednesday that no one in the video is associated with the agency. He said that sort of behavior is dangerous and against the law.

“That could be punishable by up to a year in prison,” Rusnok said.

Officials with ICE said rumors about its enforcement operations often cause panic in hispanic communities.​

“ICE fully respects the Constitutional rights of all people to peacefully express their opinions,” said an ICE official. “However, potentially dangerous problems can arise when such groups or individual members take their rights to the extreme.”

The ICE Dallas Field Office released the below statement:

Neither ICE Dallas components — ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) or ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) — were involved in the social media video link identified as occurring July 16 in West Dallas. However, the video shows active harassment and dangerous driving that could have resulted in a crash and injuries and/or fatalities.
