WASHINGTON (AP) – President Donald Trump has responded to a scathing op-ed from Republican Sen.-elect Mitt Romney.
Romney, incoming Utah senator and former 2012 GOP presidential candidate, gave a blistering criticism of Trump’s policies and character in a Washington Post column.
Romney wrote that Trump has “not risen to the mantle of the office.”
Here we go with Mitt Romney, but so fast! Question will be, is he a Flake? I hope not. Would much prefer that Mitt focus on Border Security and so many other things where he can be helpful. I won big, and he didn’t. He should be happy for all Republicans. Be a TEAM player & WIN!

The Flake reference Trump tweeted about was a nod to Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, a Republican who has also been critical of Trump.
Romney’s assessment comes as Trump and Senate Republicans face a new power dynamic after losing control of the House to Democrats.
Democrats are expected to oppose Trump on a number of policies and have promised to launch investigations into his actions.
