ANNA – WBAP/KLIF – Anna Police say they are searching for a 20 year old suspect and Anna resident, Benito Gutierrez, in the shooting of an unidentified Anna resident around 3 am Thursday morning. Benito Gutierrez is believed to be the gunman, and was last seen driving a red vehicle from the scene. The car has since been recovered.
Police Chief Jeff Caponera says Gutierrez has a prior arrest on charges of injury to a child or elderly person. Caponera says the weapon used, in which the victim was shot in the abdomen, has not been recovered. The victim underwent surgery and was described after that as in critical, but stable condition.
