ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Arlington Police Department is investigating a motive after a handgun was found at a junior high school.
According to Police, two teenagers were arrested Wednesday for bringing a loaded glock-26 handgun to Nichols Junior High.
“We have no idea what their motive was because their stories are all over the map,” Lt. Chris Cook said.
According to Lt. Cook, a witness told the school she was shown the gun in another student’s waist band Monday.
“He told her not to say anything or she’d be next,” Lt. Cook said.
The girl reportedly told her parents Tuesday night and administrators were notified Monday. After a search for the gun, it was found in another student’s backpack. That teenager and the one who allegedly made the threat were arrested.
Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson tweeted that guns in schools won’t be tolerated.
