DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The number of children being separated from their families at the U.S. / Mexico border is growing and children are being placed in detention facilities.
The migrants are being held in a warehouse style building in McAllen, Texas. The undocumented immigrants are reportedly being ushered through a chain link gate into a caged area. Once there, they are further divided into children that are unaccompanied, adults that are on their own, or families. The facility is said to be housing roughly one thousand people, with hundreds of children reportedly staying in other long-term shelters.
For some of the children, transfers to Dallas and Houston are being considered.
