Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A Houston man with ties to Dallas faces a capital murder charge in a 30 year old assault case in Highland Park.
56-year old George Guo (gwah), a registered sex offender was arrested Wednesday in connection with death of a former Highland Park doctor Katherine Bascone.
Bascone died in February from a brain injury she suffered when she was sexually assaulted and strangled in june of 1988; she was 28 at the time. She has been confined to a bed since the attack.
In 1988, Bascone suffered an anoxic brain injury, which left her blind, confined to a bed and needing nursing care the rest of her life.
After she died in hospice care in February, the medical examiner in Tulsa, Okla., ruled her death a homicide, listing her cause of death as the brain injury, according to the Dallas County District Attorney’s office.
Guo was linked through DNA evidence.
