FORT WORTH, TX. (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth police say they have arrested a former Uber driver who sexually assaulted an elderly woman late last year, then disappeared.
40 year old Hashem Ramezanpour was taken into custody at DFW International Airport. Police say he flew back into the country to turn himself in and he is facing charges of aggravated sexual assault.
Investigators believe picked up the 77 year old woman from a location in Dallas on October 22nd, to take her back to her home in Fort Worth. On the way, the woman says the driver pulled the car over and reportedly sexually assaulted her before dropping her off at her home.
Following the incident, Police believed Ramezanpour, an Iranian citizen, might have fled the country.
