Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Serious injuries reported from a tanker crash on the Sam Rayburn Tollway around 3am this morning.
The tanker crashed into a disabled BMW on the road, which had just rear-ended a box truck minutes earlier. The drivers of the BMW and the tanker were badly hurt.
The tanker was carrying several thousand gallons of diesel fuel.
Michael Rey with the NTTA says a hazmat cleanup is underway which has tied traffic up for hours. He told our newsroom that each hazmat event is different so he can’t estimate how long the cleanup will take.
WFAA-TV Photo-journalist Mike Forbes got caught in the traffic mess.
