
DENTON (WBAP/KLIF) – Denton County Public Health reported the sixth and seventh influenza-associated deaths in Denton County Wednesday, for the 2017-2018 flu season. More than 90 flu deaths have been reported this flu season in North Texas.
Health experts say the flu continues to be a serious health threat across the country. The Denton County Health Department said Wednesday that he best way to protect yourself and your family from the flu is to get an annual flu shot, and the flu vaccination is recommended for everyone 6 months and older. The departments also asked that people remember to cover your cough and sneeze, avoid people experiencing flu symptoms, stay home when you feel sick and wash your hands often.
According to the most recent report from the Center for Disease Control, 48 states are still experiencing widespread flu outbreak.
