DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Holiday Parade has been saved by a private donation.
This year’s parade was in jeopardy after a big sponsor dropped out. When the week began, organizers needed more than $300,000. Citizens and businesses came forward with donations, including one private donor who took care of the remaining costs.
“They are honored and excited to be a part of a Dallas tradition that is true and loving and inspiring,” said the Parade’s Executive Producer, Jeffrey Giles.
Giles wouldn’t say exactly how much the donor came forward with but did say it covers the remaining costs. The identity of the private donor will be announced later this week. A number of Dallas citizens and businesses also made contributions to the event this week.
This year will mark the 30th annual Dallas Holiday Parade. The parade is set for December 2 in Downtown Dallas.
