The second man wanted in the 2016 murder of an Arlington woman has been arrested.
April Vancleave was shot to death outside of her apartment last December. Police say she was trying to earn Christmas money by selling jewelry online. Two men arranged to buy from Vancleave at Target but never met her. Instead, they followed her home and killed her.
“Ms. Vancleave was simply trying to raise money for Christmas by selling some jewelry,” said Arlington Police Lt. Chris Cook. “When the buyers didn’t show up at the store, she was followed home by the two suspects.”
Lt. Cook said Alex Menor Diaz was arrested Friday in Keller.
“They got a break in the case and located him,” Lt. Cook said. “They took him into custody without incident.”
Diaz also goes by other names so confirmation of his true identity is still ongoing. He remains in the Arlington Jail with initial bond set at $1 million. Earlier in February of 2017, Mario Hernan Lopez Gamez was arrested and charged with Capital Murder for his role in the case.
