Anna (WBAP/KLIF News) – One man is dead and another charged with murder after a shooting this morning at the Hurricane Creek Country Club golf course. Captain Jim Moody with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office says they got a call around 9:40 that a shooting had happened. After they got there, deputies realized the suspect was still on the grounds.
“They set up a perimeter, and they were able to locate a suspect by the name of John Robert Sim, white male, 20 years of age,” said Moody. “Currently, Mr. Sim is being detained at the Collin County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of murder.”
The victim, 55-year old Julio Garcia, died at a local hospital shortly after his arrival. The investigation in ongoing, but Moody says both Garcia and Sims were employees of the country club. He doesn’t think anyone else was involved.
