DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The wife of an Iraqi refugee who was murdered outside his apartment is suing her complex for lack of security.
Ahmed Al-Jumaili was enjoying his first snowfall when he was fatally shot by Nykerion Nealon in March of 2015.
His wife’s lawsuit claims that her husband would still be alive had the Walnut Bend Apartments enforced standard security measures.
She said the company was aware of the need to install access gates, security guards and more lighting, but failed to do so.
According to the Dallas Morning News, she’s accusing the company of pretending to be unaware of crime at the complex as an excuse.
The company has not commented on the lawsuit.
